Gauguin Flowers Chiffon Scarf
Description
DESIGNER'S NOTES A striking floral Fox & Chave chiffon silk scarf with elements from the still-life painting A Vase of Flowers (1896) by Paul Gauguin (1848-1903). The painting is a vivid, unconventional still life painted during his time in Tahiti, the composition features lush, tropical blooms in a simple vase, rendered with bold colours, thick outlines, and flattened perspective, reflecting Gauguin's break from European realism. Painted in his search for purity and spiritual truth, the work blends decorative beauty with symbolic undertones. Created in his later, more introspective period, it remained relatively obscure until posthumously celebrated, and now recognised for its fusion of Western technique and Polynesian influence.
