Mackintosh Rose and Teardrop Crepe De Chine Scarf-FC-41-235
Description
DESIGNER'S NOTES A classy Fox & Chave crêpe de chine silk scarf with a stylised repeat of roses in the unique art nouveau style developed by Charles Rennie Mackintosh (1868-1928). Mackintosh's rose design is a prime example of his artistic approach, stylised and abstract, featuring geometric shapes and clean lines. The petals and leaves are depicted in a simplified, almost linear fashion, which aligns with Mackintosh's tendency to combine organic forms with a modern, geometric sensibility. It often appeared in his designs as a single, elegant bloom with a somewhat flattened, two-dimensional appearance but also as repeat design for interior use as in this example. COLOURS STYLING Wear your Fox & Chave crêpe de chine silk scarf in a variety of ways from the French Knot: Fold scarf in half, loop around neck, pull ends through loop, to the Infinity Knot: Loop scarf twice, tie ends in knot.
