Delaunay Still Life Silk Habotai Scarf

Description

DESIGNER'S NOTES A colourful Fox & Chave silk habotai scarf derived from elements of the painting Portugese Still Life, (1916) by the French founder of the Orphist movement Robert Delaunay (1885-1941) The painting is a vibrant, abstract composition that exemplifies the Orphist style. Delaunay blends fragmented shapes and bold, luminous colours to depict traditional still life objects, like jugs, plates and fruit, in a non-representational manner. The artist's use of overlapping planes and rhythmic circular patterns create a sense of movement and depth, giving the impression of light bouncing off the objects. The intensity of colour takes precedence over form, emphasising emotional and sensory experiences, such as the depiction of a sliced Watermelon revealing within its seeds and dark pink flesh, rather than detailed realism. COLOURS STYLING A Fox & Chave habotai silk scarf can be worn with the classic knot style or a pussycat bow. You can even create a shawl effect by knotting two scarves together behind your neck and allowing them to drape over your shoulders.
