Description

DESIGNER'S NOTES A courtesy face mask with a bold turquoise design inspired by the painting Hope II by the Art Nouveau and symbolist artist Gustav Klimt. Polka dots have a long decorative history, originating in Central Europe in the mid-nineteenth century, their name likely linked to the polka dance craze that swept fashion and textiles simultaneously. Initially appearing on fabrics and ceramics, they conveyed playfulness, rhythm and visual energy through simple repeated forms. In Gustav Klimt's work, polka-dot-like motifs emerge as part of his richly patterned surfaces, especially in his later, gold-ground paintings such as in this work and in the Portrait of Adele Bloch-Bauer I . Circles, spirals and dot clusters are integrated into drapery, backgrounds and ornament, transforming a trivial pattern into a symbol of opulence, sensuality and the fusion of organic form with geometric abstraction. COLOURS DETAILING 3-ply, soft metal nose bridge, adjustable ear loops, and stretch surround. Black, Breaker Bay, Mexican Red, Royal Blue, and Orange One size fits all Machine washable 100% Cotton Machine Finished
