Morris Owl Pendant
Description
DESIGNER'S NOTES This classic silver plated pendant features an owl from a detail of the pattern by the William Morris Company. The design that the owl is derived from was by John Henry Dearle, for an embroidered wall hanging on green silk damask. It features acanthus leaves, a blue flowering tree with a perched owl, and other plants including roses and tulips. A partridge also peeks from the foliage. Embroidered by a Mrs Battye in multiple silk colours with stem and darned stitches, it is an unlined piece, originally nailed to a stretcher. STYLING The pendant is a few centimetres in diameter with a 450mm chain, so style outside high necklines, or against the skin with lower necklines. Wear with jewellery of similar scale, such as a simple silver bracelet. Forest Green, Tan, Brown, and Pink One size fits all Wipe Clean Silver Plate High Polish Shine Made in The United Kingdom
